Expo 2020 in Dubai was the Republic of Montenegro’s first universal Expo participation with its own National Pavilion, a platform to showcase the Country’s great culture, and natural beauties in the Expo Sustainability District.
"Blessed by Nature” was the Pavilion’s concept theme designed by Simmetrico to represent Montenegro with its natural resources and the wildlife of this small yet stunning Balkan mountainous Country but laid on the Adriatic coastline with sunny beaches. The “journey” into Montenegro cultural heritage and unspoiled natural wonders begins once through the front door, where visitors are welcomed inside by an immersive environment with sounds of Montenegrin nature.
A continuous curved wall, topped by a breath-taking woollen string structure, runs all around the Pavilion describing with projections and interactive installations Montenegro flourishing nature, national identity, cultural heritage and investment opportunities.
At the hearth of the pavilion there is a pulsating digital forestmade of 189 machine engraved Plexiglas pipes, whose RGB DMX controlled LED lights enliven the whole pavilion, with a spectacular changing colours ambiance that poetically recreates different moods throughout the day, from sunrise to sunset.
